Gulf Oil Spill in Proportion to Charleston

There are a lot of images and maps showing the size and scope of the oil spill in the gulf. It can be hard to mentally visualize just how big the spill is because most of the map shows the spill around an area you may not be familiar with. I found this interesting link on Twitter that shows the oil spill in the gulf then shoots it over to your hometown so you can see how big the spill is in relation to some geography you are familiar with. Scary to see the spill overlayed in the Charleston area. It would stretch from Myrtle Beach to Savannah.

  1. Wow. That literally “hits close to home.” Good post. Thanks.

  2. this does not show me anything as i have no idea how far from Myrtle Beach to Savannah is. It would be great if we in the uk could see it over a map of the uk

  3. Is this blog ever updated
