Football Trash Talking with Social Media

Ah yes, you can smell it in the air can’t you? This Thursday evening commences the 2009 NCAA football season with the South Carolina Gamecocks taking on the N.C. State Wolfpack. It will most likely be another season of underachieving and futility for both South Carolina teams, but we are still in that pre-season phase where we can dare to dream of a miracle season where everything goes right. And even if the football is mired in mediocrity once again this year, the arguing, bickering, and insults between Clemson and Carolina fans can be just as entertaining as the games themselves. This trash talking has evolved over the years with the help of social media. Facebook, Twitter and off course, blogs, have all contribute in so many wonderful ways to this storied pastime.
