Yet More DMB Concert Info

I really didn’t plan to blog this much about the show, but pretty big news went down last night. From DMB’s official web site:

LeRoi Moore was injured today in an ATV accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia.  LeRoi was immediately transported to the University of Virginia Health System for treatment where he remains in serious condition.

Please join us all in wishing LeRoi a speedy and complete recovery.

Beginning tomorrow in Charlotte, NC, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones saxophonist, Jeff Coffin, will be sitting in with Dave Matthews Band while LeRoi recovers.

Wow, pretty shocking news. Thankfully LeRoi wasn’t too seriously hurt. It sounds like he just got really banged up and will need some time to recover. Should be interesting to see how this affects the set lists and overall vibe of the shows this week. There is a show tonight in Raleigh, tomorrow in Charlotte, then Friday here in Charleston.

Jeff Coffin is as skilled as they come on the sax. He won’t miss a beat (literally and figuratively). But still, LeRoi is one of the original band members and will be sorely missed. Hope he gets well and is back with the band soon.

One other tidbit of info is that there is apparently an 11 p.m. noise ordinance that will be strictly enforced which is lame Lame LAME. That’s what happens when you have a concert next door to a police station I guess. Stadium officials claim the band is aware and will adjust the starting time accordingly.

So no tailgating, no outside drinking, 11 p.m. curfew. It’s amazing we don’t get more high profile concerts here in Charleston.
