Eat, drink, and be merry

A buddy suggested that I blog today. It is, after all, a day that only comes around once every 4 years and it might be cool to have a post on this rare occasion. Besides, when the next leap year comes around, who knows where the Internets will be and how we will be dispersing all our pointless information. Blogs may not be around anymore so take advantage now.

Problem is I really don’t have much to say right this moment. I did read about an interesting study in Business Week. It printed the results of a study on healthcare costs in the US and how it is actually the healthy folks who rack up the higher medical costs throughout one’s lifetime. The reason? Well, unhealthy folks tend to die early and while their medical problems are costly, in the long run it doesn’t add up to the costs of dealing with pricey age-related illnesses like Alzheimer’s that healthy folks will probably have to deal with.

So eat, drink, and be merry. You’ll be saving your country some money in the long run by being unhealthy and dying early.
