hipp waters

I’m not in a band.

I played out with some buddies a few times back in the day with all the usual hopes and aspirations of making it big, acquiring a horde of hot groupies, and living the life of a rock star only to lose it all then make a comeback years later and have a VH1 Behind the Music special made about us, but alas, the industry just wasn’t ready for our sound back then.

If I were to ever form a band, it would certainly include my two good buddies Snug T and JP. If we were to name said band, it would more then likely be called hipp waters for reasons that aren’t all that interesting or creative.

JP introduced Snug and me to the guitar over 10 years ago at Clemson. I’ve come pretty darn close to playing a guitar at least once every single day since then. It’s been one of the few things in life I’ve had a deep passion for and been relatively good at. It is an integral fabric that is intricately woven into the cloth of my life…or something.

Here’s a quick animoto.com video to one of our tunes we whipped up one evening.

  1. You ought be bringing in some rough cuts of the stuff you recorded during their last visit!

  2. I know. JP has to mix it all down which takes a while. One time we didn’t get anything back until he came down to visit a year later. Also I can’t post mp3 files without paying extra on this site which is lame. I tried using other sites to host some tunes and just link to it but I couldn’t get it to work. Need to keep trying tho.

  3. You could always try and post some of the Hipp Waters recordings on the Live Music Archive. Too bad we don’t have a recording of the Hemingway’s show!!
