130,000% Return on Investment

In 1994, back when the Internetz was a slow, lumbering, dinosaur of a medium that many of us didn’t use or fully understand, some normal guy from Maryland, who owned a small software company, purchased a generic, innocuous domain name for mere $20.

That simple domain, Pizza.com, sold earlier this month via an auction for $2.6 million dollars. Just thought this was a wonderful Interweb success story and wanted to share.

Before you go register hamburger.com keep in mind that not all of these easy-to-remember domain names have such success stories. Here’s a list of of a few can’t misses that bombed.
